I was wandering because I plan on building a motor I really Don't know what I'm going to build I've got a 302 351w and a 460 I'm not sure what I'm going with yet cuz I want to know What everything can handle I've hurdles stories of 460 breaking the input shaft of np435s
Well the 460 has a different bellhousing pattern then the small blocks. So which bellhousing do you have? I personally wouldn't bother building a 302 for a truck.
I just herd the story I know they are good transmissions I've got a Windsor bell and 460 bell for a NP435 I was just wandering if it can handle around 500 ft. lbs. of torque cuz that's what I'm going to shoot for when I build my motor
You might try asking in the 73-79 forum also. They would have more specific info/answers but I think that it'd be fine. As I mentioned before tho, make sure everything else on the driveline is upgraded as well
