Why are there so many different setups for the steering components on the front end of my 73 high boy? In need of a drivers side outer tie rod and baffled about the $109.00 price. What's the difference between that one and the $54.00 one for the other set up? Do I have any other options here? Is there any interchange between these parts?

Ford truck parts catalogs: Having the front axle ID tag number is a major asset. Originally, the tag was installed under one of the bolts that retain the inspection cover to the housing.
Today, many of the tags are missing. Trying to look up these parts is a royal PITA, because there are over ONE HUNDRED different parts lists just for 1973/79's, I kid you not.
No tag number? I'm not going to bother...it's not only too time consuming, but there's chance I may type the wrong part number(s), then list the wrong application(s).
