When gas is applied lightly or stomped on truck dies out then licks up and goes. Engine is also fresh out of a rebuild. Truck also looks like its burning oil, blue smoke comes of of exhaust, checked level-still good. 1976 F350
I had a '72 C-10 SB Stepside once years ago, 307 v8, T-350, and I had it repainted and put some new parts like grille, bumper, etc on it and new wheels, etc. 2WD.
I wanted a motor and trans for it. Local guy built me a good trans, and I found a smokin deal on a fresh rebuilt 1971 350 LT-1 that smoked like that, except it did run OK in his Camaro. I was wondering why it smoked though, so before installing it, on the stand it went and I pulled it apart. Heads, valves, etc al;l looked super, pink rods, steel crank, 4 bolt mains, 10.5 Forgings .... except when the guy who rebuilt it put it together or maybe his helper ..... they forgot to stagger the ring gaps.
Every ring gap on every piston when pulled out was in a straight line, on top side of piston. Both oil scraper rings, expander between, and both compression rings. A ruler was not any straighter.
New gaskets and spacing the ring gaps around and I never saw it smoke afterwards.
