2000 Ford expedition
My parents have a expedition that has a weird 'thump' and jerks when accelerating, it has also had a vibration when you go over 3000 rpm for a time now, never missed or anything until a couple days ago they said it started thumping when accelerating, BUT it only does it if you get on it pretty good, they were told by a mechanic that the vibration was most likely the torque convertor and the thump and Jerk i feel could also be caused by the convertor, what transmission do the expy's have? i thought they were 4r100 (its a 5.4 4wd it is a 20 bolt pan) but looking at parts site it shows only a 4r70w and E4od for torque convertors, but then the filter kit shows a 4r100 and the e4od have same filter kit which has me confused to a point...
any other ideas what could be causing there problem with it?

thats bout what i figured aswell, i rode with my dad the other day in it and that was the first time the 'thump' was noticed but he also drives it harder than my mother does if she breaks 2500 rpm in it its a emergency, so it could of been doing it for a while now i suppose, they just asked me about it so im trying to help them figure it out..
