Wow, that's awesome. How tall are those antennae like 60 ft or so. I guess it also depends on how much power you'd need, or with new technology are they smaller
the higher the better. also the closer to the full wave length the better. but you have options like 1/4 wave etc 1/2 wave, 5/8.. etc. also styles such as loops, yagi, it goes on and on.
but the HOA were I live will have no of that.
It was yrs ago for me as well. My father had one when we lived in Brazil. I used it the most. Talking to people in South Africa. When we left there the police department bought it. Not sure what they wanted it for maybe the antenna.
and now I wonder why I never come to the local forum.
You live in an HOA and want to put up an antenna. What do you want us to say? Put it on the neighbors house? Bribe the neighborhood snitch? Move?
Any options that would hide your antenna would limit it's power or be illegal, but you probably already know that. Sorry, but in your situation I don't think there are many good options for putting up a good antenna.
That's part of the joys of living in an HOA. Your neighbors won't do things you might not like, or that thinking is applied against you. The place across the road from me is for sale. No HOA's here and you can even walk out your back door and shoot a firearm legally so an antenna would be no big deal here. The drive to work might suck though.
o there are always awnsers. I have found 2 so far this week. are they perfect, no will they work O YA.
20m dipole and a screwdrive will both do and can both be easly hidden. the dipole being the cheep method.
but really look for some low profile homebrew stuff too.
Correct me if I'm wrong, (it's been a long time since I've had my antenna classes), but won't the DIY dipole type antenna's be limited by height if you're hiding them? You could even make a directional dipole antenna mounted on the rear slope of your roof that would be easily hidden, but probably not of much use for what you want.
Of course, if you're willing to make your own antenna out of wire, could you suspend it high enough and just confuse people as to what it is? Perhaps tell them it's some bird landing or habitat? We used to make 3 sided pyramid shaped antennas out of comm wire and hang them from trees to help with our radio transmissions, but that was a long time ago in a much different place.
