Is the "J2" cam the same thing as NMB2's "turbo" cam or are they different? Ordered the Turbo Cam, interested if this graph reflects its properties. Also, if the turbo cam eliminates valve overlap and increases boost, did the two trucks have similar turbos on them? Might the choice of cam be influenced by which turbo is being used?
Thanks. That's helpful. Starting to re-think my gearing choice, as 4.10's with ZF-5 speed AND Gear Vendor overdrive would put me at 2.46:1 final output... I'd be turning exactly 2,000 rpm at 75 mph which is a bit out of the cam's peak torque range. Still trying to work out a swap with a co-worker for his D60/10.25 axle set with 3.55's. If I ditched the GV I would have 2.73:1 and be turning 2,220 rpm at 75 mph in 5th. Seems better for that cam. With the other set-up I can see needing to turn off the OD a lot and letting it scream at 3.16:1... well, I've been living with T19 + GV = 3.20:1 and it feels like it wants another gear, even NA. Not screaming like 4.10's with no OD but still...
Ok.... Preliminary numbers off the top of my head, im sure graphs will be posted by tomorrow, but here is the list...
RacinNdrummin- 342whp/759wtq
91dirtydiesel- 202whp/442wtq
lilredsled-227whp/462wtq
NMB2- 354whp/665wtq (Justin might have to correct tq, Thats the number I remember, might not be accurate)
Ill elaborate more in my thread about my truck, but I did manage to gain 50hp in tuning on the dyno....
To the guys that were there, feel free to correct any mistakes I made...
Eric said that the 365 run was the computer/dyno flaking out, much like my 806tq run... 676wtq sounds right now that I think about it...
Enjoying the Crown?
Oh ok, I didn't hear him say that. I thought he said it was on the sweep test and didn't save or something.....
Yeah, thanks for the crown.
By the way.... I was happy until someone brought competition to the table. Watching those videos my truck is burning every last drop of diesel being injected, and I have no bottle necks gives me a mild hard on...... Might be time to increase some roller to roller
