anyone know of a midship tank that will work in a 73, i have a ranger tank in it right now but it only holds 13.4 gallons cant make it far with the camper looking for a 20+ gallon tank that will work
For behind the axle if you want to go that way a tank for the 1984 Bronco II it will fit in. 23 gallons. The reason I used the 84 is no fuel pump in tank. 1985 has electric pump in tank. Just remove the bed, grind rivets from rear cross member and slide it ahead a few inches and bolt it back in. Add another to the rear for bolting the straps to. I got the off road guard at the local auto wrecking yard.
No, 1985 BIIs did not have an in tank pump. They just used the thank with a larger hole that the FI rigs had. 85s have a unique sending unit that isn't reproduced. That's one of the reasons the 84 tank is recommend for carb'd applications. You can get 84 senders new.

That is the problem with FORD, they have obsolete parts for my 2000 PSD. They say longest running on the road, ha,ha, go find aftermarket parts. You can find the steel tank and sending unit at ADVANCE AUTO PARTS. That is where I got mine. I also found them in plastic after I got the steel one. Check it out if you go this route and live in the salt belt.
