I need to replace the foremost front driveshaft U joint where it connects to the front end, it looks like there are 4 bolts on it. My question is do I need to pull the shaft off at the transfer case to remove, or is this something that can be done under the truck. I just did the ball joints, 1 caliper and brakes, so I can turn a wrench, just not sure of the process steps.
Any ideas or sugestions would be much appreciated.
Mike
just to clarify, do I need to remove the whole driveshaft from under the truck or does the shaft seperate from the front and slide out of the rubber boot do hicky just between the front and mid shaft area?

You can do it all while underneath.... or seperate it from the slip joint... but I would remove the whole thing as a unit. I have doe it all three ways and recomend removing the whole thing. Less chance of things going wrong. Make sure your grease zerks are facing the right way, for ease of lubricating and servicing
