i am hoping that someone here knows what to do. i put an aftermarket cd player head unit and i have heard that you have to bypass the rear amp and headphone controls or else the rear 6x9s wont work. which is true becuase when i turn on the rear speakers they fuzz out the entire system. i was wondering if anyone had some experience with bypassing this system or how to rewire the whole setup.
I have found it easier and much less hassel to just hardwire the speakers direct to the head-unit with decent speaker wire. I went through the same thing with my wifes van and just rewired it. I did keep the stock wiring in place incase I wanted to return it to stock( if we ever sell it).
My van has all custom system in it, here is a link to it. Probably more than you are looking to do but a nice set up in any case... http://www.sounddomain.com/member_pa...ord%20Aerostar
alright cool. i guess thats what i will do to. by the way ive been on sound domain for a while and gotten some very good install ideas and ive seen you van before. didnt know there was anyone here that knew about sounddomain.. wiat till i get some pics up. i have the aerostar entiteled the batvan.
I built my system 2 years ago and did some competeing with it but as with most things I never got to finsh it the way I wanted. I have replaced the Comps with Comp Vr's and that's about all.
Can't wait to see the pics of your system, what are the specs on it?
Oh yes I think when I posted my van on Sound Domain there was only 8-9 Aerostars on there but now there is 3 pages, LOL!
i just got this van a month ago and was fired from my job about a week or two after. right now money is short to come by. so right now my system is as follows. pioneer deh-12 head unit. all stock speakers right now. one 15 inch vr3 subwoofer 100 watt max. one road gear 250 watt amp. dont laugh its all i was able to afford. and i have four 6x9 speakers in stand alone boxes that im gonna hook up in place of the sub for now cuase the sub doesnt get enough power from the cheap amp. but heres my plans for this van. pioneer mp3 player cd head unit. one pioneer 760 watt amp for two 15 inch subs of the same as i have. one jensen 400 watt four channel amp for the eight 6 1/2 inches that i will build a custom plate to install four underneath each of the rear benches. and then for the stock locations i will use all explode speakers mathced up for better sound. also im gonna lower it and buy new rims. im thinking some welds or maybe some other chromed steel. i will stick with the stock wheel size but one inch wider cuase then i can keep the tires i have on it now cuase there in good condition. also paint it black and get clear rear tail light covers. and then some interior design workk and she will be ready to win some local bragging rights for me. i have a freind who can make his ears bleed with his system all the way up. i want to sqaush him like the bug he is. muhhaaahahahaha
