I have two air filters im looking at getting to replace my old one but im not sure which one is worth going with? One is a K&N and the other im adding a link to its a S&B i belive.
About all either one is worth over the stock filter is "hey guys, look what I did"
Unless you have major modifications and the last thing on the list is a air filter, then go for it..
The stock paper filter is NOT a bottleneck on stock trucks...
I just think it would be cheaper to get a re usable one then keep buying new filters. Easier to maintain thats all. I dont plan on getting a cold air intake or anything just a stock replacment
Did I miss some thing? Are you replacing the filter in the 92 ORRRR? Cause arnt the K&N Stock in a 92 5.0? My 92 5.8 is and so is the kids down the street and he has the 5.o. If Im out of line Im sorry but Im just sayin.

It's not cheaper because you have to buy a recharge kit every time you clean it.
That's true plus they flow more air and keep out more impurities
*Runs out of room before the flaming starts even though these are facts that have been proven time and time again*
You are 100% wrong here.
A K&N filter on a stock engine doesn't flow any more air than a stock filter. Yes, it is CAPABLE of flowing more air, but the stock filter is already capable of flowing more air than what the engine uses so it doesn't actually suck any more air through the filter.
They also do not keep out more impurities. In fact, the opposite is true. A K&N filter allows significantly more impurities through than a stock paper filter.

This is correct. The stock filter can provide enough air to the engine for at least 400 HP.
