I just got some window decals in the mail today, and I was just wondering what other people have done for placement. Or recommendations on where to place them.
Legally? Depends on your state. In CA, there are areas designated OK by the motor vehicle code - square areas at the bottom corners of the windshield and the bottom corners of the back glass. Don't have the dimensions.
In reality however, (and because most cops don't bother unless it actually constitutes a hazard) I like small ones on the back glass directly behind my head.
Graphically, some sort of "composition" and an odd number looks better. For example, bigger or wider decals look better at the bottom because they look heavy. Lay'em out on a table and feel out what looks good to you. Enjoy.
I have everything in the corners, I thought I had another picture but couldn't find it. Here's one corner. I have an Offy and Hedman sticker in the other corner.
I got a sheet of magnetic material from a sign shop and made refrigerator magnets out of my stickers.
2X.. I do that too but for my 01 SuperCrew. It normally wears a Bilstein decal but on NASCAR weekends, it wears a "3" for Dale Earnhardt, a "2" for the Miller Lite car (our tailgating beer), a "17" for Matt Kenseth, and a "99" for Carl Edwards.
I probably should have switched the JEGS and FelPro, because the drivers side seems kind of heavy with the square Holley Equipped in the upper corner...
