help me out......shift vibration????what's causing it?
I have a 08 f-150 super crew 4x4 and driving down highway or just on main roads,when ever my truck down shifts it make a quik vibration noise, kinda like driving on a washboard road. any ideas out there???????

I've got a similar problem with my 05, but it is when it up shifts into od when under load but not enough that it engages the torque converter. Something i read a while back that might help is if you hit the brakes right as it happens if it dosnt stop as your brakes come on its probably a trans problem, if it stops its most likely your torque converter because it has a disengage function as the brakes are applied. This may not help at all but its quick and easy to try to help you do some problem solving.

hey raider50 ,thnkn you are on the same page as me ,but mine does it when it down shifts out of overdrive . Mostly when i start goin up hill ,it comes out of od and goes into drive.Thats were my vibration noise is felt.I just had my motor rebuilt, I've been wondering if that had anythng to do with the vibration were they had to pull motor and didnt align it right when they put it back in. Also when i apply brakes it does shake like my roaters are warped.Just put new rotors and brake pads on and still does it.Front end is tight too. Thought i would try this site out before i have to spend big bucks at a repair shop.

That is really interesting, I have a fresh engine in mine and it was the same before and after. Given what you have described I have not the slightest clue to what it could be. Sorry, good luck.
