Greeting fellows, I need a little help. My daughter's 2004 F150 has a horn problem. She used it the other day and it would not stop blowing. Someone unplugged it for her. When I checked it out and re-plugged it in it still continues to blow. Question is where do I begin. Does this have a horn relay? Do I have to remove the air bag to access the connections under the pad? I own a 1985 F150 and mine is much simpler. Any advise will help. Thanks
Nope, no lights showing. I'm only guess that maybe when she pushed on the horn it some how got stuck.....or I think some systems have a horn relay that might be bad. if I have to get under the horn pad I just wanted to know what to expect.
My 06 does the same thing once in a while. If it ever does happen i just give the horn on the wheel a few lite hits and it stops. As for why it happens, i havent the slightest idea lol
i have a 1997 f250 ld did the same thing. took out the air bag assembly (un-hooked battery cables first of course) and discovered that there is a circuit board membrane that sends electrical current to the horn. this thin membrane is flexible and and is designed to 'snap back' after it is depressed. i guess its kinda like me , after so many years it looses its flexibility. the membrane is made by xymox technologies and i have contacted them and they cant sell to private . you have to buy a new or used steering wheel air bag. lots of them out there in salvage yards. God Bless!
This happened on my wifes Rav 4 years ago. She somehow managed to drop a penny in between the crack in the horn pad.
Everytime I made a turn the horn would blow, until I cut the wheel straight. That was a fun ride home, i got told I was number one about 10 times that night...lol
If you can for the heck of it see if there's something stuck in there.
