No gains with a free flowing muffler, lose the resonator and put a K&N in it? This truck will never see any dirt. Only reason I have a 4wd is to plow my 600ft. driveway and get around the mountains of Pgh in the winter.

Honestly, No.
The exhaust system on the 3V trucks are really not bad-all the aftermarket crap will get you is noise. Get a K&N if you'd like, but don't do it for power/mileage-it's impossible for them to do anything to gain you power/mileage.

When you say "a good tune" do you mean, plugs, O2 sensors and generally making sure everything is fresh and operating correctly, or do you mean, recalibrating the ECM plus the other things mentioned? Remember, my truck has 225k on it. My friend that is a good mechanic, very meticulate but getting older (65) and only wants to do inspection and easy work anymore tells me that O2 sensors wear out like spark plugs do and should be changed at 100k. Any thoughts? I have no service records on the truck so I don't know what has been changed. The oil was definitely changed because of the absolute spotlessness of the inside of the engine so I believe the previous owner took care of it.
