was looking at 11 platinum sat. It had the nav, and moonroof and all the goodies including a 6.5 bed with tailgate step. beautiful silver color etc etc. sticker was 52xxx. I offered 40 and the dealer countered with 44k. I didnt take the offer but reiterated my offer of 40. contacted another dealer i know well and they said 43 would be about the best unless i got some special certificate from ford for 2k for being a current super duty owner. I cant imagine what else you could put on one to increase the sticker to 53xxx. wonder what the diff was. The one I looked at had the eco, with every option I can think of except the large tow mirrors. hope that helps.
$44K on what sticker price? The Platinum I'm looking at has: paint $495, engine $1,995, skids $160, slider $995, tow pkg $565, tailgate step $375 plus $995 delivery. $52,710. I'd take $44,000 if I could get it.
One of the best things to do is get a complete list of options for a vehicle, and go to a "build & price" site online. Sites like edmunds.com will let you build out the vehicle and see both the MSRP & invoice pricing for that vehicle.
Generally speaking, before any incentives (cash back, rebates, etc.), credit from a trade-in, or any other adjustments, the purchase price for the new vehicle should be around dealer invoice in order to get a "good" deal.
I would figure that if you could get 9-10K off a Plat then you're doing pretty good. It was my experience while shopping for mine that the Plats are typically the last to sell except for possibly the XL trucks. It would be very possible to get a 2011 holdover in 2012. That would present a sweet deal.
What type of deal did you get? Was it at the end of the year and if so what were the rebates then? Thanks for any help tseekins. Edmunds is showing around $47K for a $53K Platinum. That's about 89% of sticker. This time of year around 80% is more normal. Ford is holding tough in here except for the STX regular cab model. $3K on that.

I bought an XLT so that's a different animal anyway. But I got about 20% off an MSRP of $36,4xx. So I paid $29K plus TTL. I got about $1000 in hold back from the dealer plus incentives, rebates and 1.9% for 72 months through Ford credit.
back in 09, I got 7k off sticker on my Platinum. That included $3500 in rebates at the time. But I also traded in my old FX4 and they gave me 3k more than the KBB value, so it's like I got 10k off sticker on the new one (it's always a numbers game when a trade is involved).
today i got the price of 42500 on the plat i have been dealing on. Sticker was 52800. Wish it didnt have the moonroof but i kinda like the nav although i dont think its worth 2400. that price of 42500 includes the 750 extra trade in allowance and the 750 coupon i have from ford.sure is nice truck. 6.5 bed tailgate step , eco boost etc etc.
i can put 18s on it cant I if it is reflashed?

you can always put 18's on and check speedo with gps and see how close it comes, if out side diameter is same you should be right on, if its off you should be able to correct it with a reflash. I assume that you have 20's on it.

You did well. I ended up at almost $9750 off on a loaded Plat with a few extras thrown in, without the $1000 trade discount.
In this area once the build on the 11's quit the Plats started to dwindle quickly. Finding one loaded in the White/Black colors I wanted started to be more difficult. Waiting may have saved me several hundred or I might not have gotten the exact truck I wanted.
Over 5 or more years having the exact truck desired and enjoying it immediately was worth giving up any potential savings.
$9,750 off? What was the sticker price? What part of the US did you purchase this truck? Thanks.
Sticker after $1000 off for Nav and Moonroof was $52,335.
Xplan price was $47,739. Total rebates and incentives, including Ford credit, and $750 brochure coupon amount to $5,150 making the total amount off sticker $9,744. They included a F150 hood protector/wind deflector and wheel locks, so a little over $9,750.
Several dealers in MO, AR, and TX were close. I went with the closest one that had the truck I wanted .
You just have to be keep willing to say no until you get the deal you want. I did it all by phone and never walked into the dealer until I picked it up; in and out in 2 hours.
