Any one wanting to buy a new cam, or to read up on them before making a decision, there is a great cam co. in Canada with a really information rich site that can help. They also have some great cams, alternatives to the big co's here.
Yes, that is the co. I found their info very helpful. They offer quite a few grinds for the 300. Price would be something to think about, since postage is now international. But I enjoy finding a co. like that and knowing there are alternatives to the biggies in the U.S.
Their "little" solid lifter cam looks like it would wake up an engine. Heck, since I'll be dropping coin for screw-in studs anyway that may be the way I go.
Thanks, nice site.
Now you have me thinking about adding a cam to my 300!
How can you go wrong with a good old Canadian co., probably cheeper shipping for me.

BVA--that's a heck of a cam! Yeps, that ought to wake up any engine. It has more duration and lift than the the comp 268!! It definately won't be a hauler. Top end all the way.
But have you heard a solid lifter cam running in an engine? It sounds like the valves are tapping the lifters. But...if that's what you like....
I sort of had my eye on the A.M. cam #32631-21378. Basically, it seems like the Comp 260, almost the same #s, but with a lope due to the 109 LSA, as opposed to the 110 with the comp.
With the lash solids usually run ~6-10 degrees less effective duration than listed so it wouldn't be too bad. And the faster ramp means more torque. It sure looks healthy, but its listed operating range (1,500-5,000rpm) is the same as their hydraulic grind with 204 degrees duration. Crazy.
I do dig the solid lifter sound even though having to adjust the lash every few months is a pita.
I think I'm going to order that cam I mentioned in a previous post. It's everything I want, with the lope too. It's a Comp 260 with a lope at idle!!! It sure sounds good to me...hauling, towing, good low end, good mid-range for the freeway, and it sounds goods driving through the donut shop too. That's important!!

I hate to be negative Nellie but one degree less lobe separation isn't going to change the idle or the powerband enough to be noticeable. Check the cam cards and there won't be much difference in overlap between the two. Call them and ask how it idles.
Some time ago, I made an Excel spreadsheet with all of the commercially available camshafts for the 300. I have added the cams from Accelerated Motion. Here are all of the currently available camshafts for the 300. This is all based on manufacturer's data, not mine. I have sorted by Intake duration at 0.050" first, then by Exhaust duration at 0.050". The cams should be listed, more or less, in order from mildest to wildest.
