A simple class can be the difference between life and death for someone. In 2010 the American Heart Association revised their CPR guidelines. The goal of this contest is to show you how easy it can be to save a life.
Someone who goes into cardiac arrest, and does not get immediate CPR does not have good chances for survival. Preforming "Hands Only" CPR more than doubles the chances for that person to survive. Anyone can do "Hands Only CPR" even if you're not CPR certified and never taken a class. Its very simple. Visit HandsOnlyCPR.org for more info. There is even a virtual guide that will walk you through Hands Only CPR on the "Hot Body" of your choice.
While "Hands Only CPR" is great, being CPR certified is even better.
Your Mission: Correctly identify the nearest place to YOU that offers an American Heart Association "Heart Saver CPR" class.
Who is eligible:
- Anyone who is not already CPR certified by the AHA.
- Anyone who was previously certified and has not renewed as of January 1, 2011.
Requirements:
1. Post your home zip code.
2. Post the name of the business/location where the class would be held, address, and phone number.
3. Submissions for the drawing must be in by Friday, 16 December, 2011 at 10PM PST.
4. The grand prize is open-ended until it is claimed.
Prize:
- Everyone who submits the information above will be entered in a drawing for $20.
Grand Prize:
Should anyone choose to complete the CPR class after participating in this contest, please post the time, date and location of the class so I can verify your attendance. When you receive your "American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR" card post a picture of it here. The first person to post a picture of their new CPR card will be awarded a $50 Riffraff gift certificate.
Legal:
I am not affiliated with American Heart Association, Riffraff Diesel Performance or any other organizations. The funds for this project come from my pocket in an attempt to encourage others to visit "HandsOnlyCPR.org" or (preferably) attend an AHA CPR class.
Darn it I just came across this thread.
I'm going to get my daughter certified in CPR soon.
As a Army medic in '74 I trained and was certified as an Instructor of First Aid for the American Red Cross.
