What kind of sound do you want? What has been done to the exhaust by previous owners etc? I think single 2" was standard on those trucks so if it hasn't been done upgrading to 2.5" single exhaust or dual 2" or 2.25" wouldn't be a bad start. Future engine mods should also be factored in here...
I'd recommend youtube to start, that will give you some ideas otherwise.

All mufflers were dyno-tested on a 355-cube SBC with 10.0:1 compression, Air Flow Research 190 aluminum heads, a CompCams 292 hyd. a Victor Jr. intake, a Holley 750-cfm double-pumper, and 1 5/8 Headman headers.
I & my family have used Allied resonators (that sell for $30-$40) each, since the 1960's- they are available at any muffler shop, & independent test show they flowed 90%+ of a "race spec muffler". Others using other brands consistently showed similar results- they have a deep tone, nice low rumble on accel & decel and i typically get 10-15 years out of a set.
thanks for all the great info guys! I also heard theres a place called exhaust works near me that sells them, so i'll measure mine and pick one up! One of my friends dads does lots of welding on all kinds of stuff.. cars included, so i'll probably have him help me put it on.
If what is on the truck now is only a 2" single I would highly recommend upgrading they "Y" pipe as well go for at least 2.5" single. Walker has universal talipipes for around $33 as well.
Flowmaster mufflers can be loud, and have a very deep rumble to them especially at idle. I love mine. Look into the super 10 series it's supposed to be their loudest chambered muffler.
the flowmaster 10 is a racing muffler in most areas its not street legal i have 2 super 44s on my f250 and its pretty deep and loud. i had origional 40s on it before and to me it was too loud if its done right they can be real loud main way to get em loud is to not put dumps or run em out the back or anything. just stop the exhaust at the mufflers. a friend of mine has a f250 with the 5.4 in it and he has one 40 series on it and he cut the little pipe off the back of the muffler and his truck is real loud it probably the deepest i have heard. like he cut it at the weld.
