My truck is in my sig. I cleaning my old selector valve (or fuel reservoir which ever you would like to call it) a few times and it still doesn't work right and I want the use of my front tank back. The dealership wanted $355 for a new one . So I have been just using my back tank lol. The dealership gave me this part number e5tz-9189-b but I have not found anyone else that sells them or have the correct description for it. Every where I look it is being called VALVE & SOLENOID ASSY. But this it does not have a solenoid in it. I have found the part under the part number F1UZ9B263B for $125 on ebay and $179 on amazon.

My 1990 is set up differently than your 1989 in the fuel delivery aspect. With that in mind, I believe that you have come to the correct decision on the part number.
Hopefully, some one with direct experience will chime in.
It deals with the E150 Van, but the part number matches the one that your dealer gave you. I hope it is of some value to you.
Good Luck,

Thanks for the link and the help! The same thing happened to me but I did not break my valve lol. I will hopefully be ordering this soon. It looks exactly the same as the one on my truck but I just wanted to be sure. After this I will just about have a completely new fuel system.
