Help, possible IDM failure?
As I found it:
Put the aforemention pieces of defiled US currency in their spots and it was all good.
But I did find some other things out about this truck. It appears that the factory stock airbox is to be short lived by evidence of what i saw here.
I have an extra 6637 at my house that will soon be going on this ride. For the time being we will run this wheel until it can be changed. I do not see a problem with this unless someone can convince me otherwise. Also, what turbo housing did the '99 come with? I ask because I saw on the side of the housing, 1.1AR stamped into it. Mine does not have this stamping. And I cant recall which is better, higher than 1 or lower than 1 aspect ratio. After market housing?
I also noticed that the IC was all aluminum. Looked at mine and it has plastic end caps and pipes. This one is all aluminum everything and it looks like the mounting tabs had to be "modified" to get them to fit. Im thinking aftermarket IC as well. Should have taken a pic.
But i did find something else, again, I havent dealt with this personnally as my truck runs like a top (knock on wood) but this appears to be the leaking o-rings ive heard about on the hpop lines. Looks to have been leaking for a while. I dont think its a bad leak, just that its been going on for sometime. Some of the oil around the fitting is gelled up and old, as well as down in the valley, but some is new as well. Just a mess. Is this just an oring change or would it be better to change out the hoses all together?
Does anyone know anything about exhaust breaks? This truck has one installed but cant seem to make it work. Flip the switch and can tell no difference. It is a PacBrake Engine Brake. I havent looked thru the manual yet so i will have to get that from him to read. Hell, he should just drop the truck off to me for a week or more so I can find out all the upgrades and aftermarket stuff the previous owner put on this fine ride.
