I have posted on this before and I'm hittin it again with a different approach so I have a 2000 350 srw crew cab four wheel drive six speed ok here my problem at high speed seventy five or more and I step on it I get this vibration that comes Crome who knows where sounds front and rear or I also get it at slower speeds when pulling I recently pulled a gooseneck stock trailer accrost Kansas an at sixty I would get in it a little and it gets this vibration totally cornfuzzleing Any one else have this problem and it also makes noise hen it vibrates and when in the morning is idle up it has a whine in the hood area and it's not the legendary power steering pump whine on the older pickups any help would be greatl appreciated
Dtiveshaft bearing. Is it a two piece shaft? How long has it had the vibration? Or a cracked flywheel. Under the hood-low oil in hpop resi or tensioner pulley. Those are the first places I would look.
It's a two piece I haven't taken the drive line off and spun the brg um what do u mean by low oil in hpop do u mean engine oil level ?? It had had it since I bought it in the end of January ???
Check hpop resi when cold. If its low it would probably be your lpop. The hpop is gear driven, not enough oil could cause it to whine until the lpop gets some up there.
It does it when it's cold only and real cold is it bad on it ? How do I check pressure can I where I put my hpx in put a T fitting and a pressure gauge
It's the big aluminium piece at the front of the engine. Your engine cover is bolted to it,if you have one. I'm on my phone or I would post a pic of it.
How long does it whine for? Another thing you could look at is how fast the oil pressure gauge comes up once you start the truck. If the gauge is up and the noise is still there then your problem is somewhere else. Could it be your exaust backpressure valve(ebpv)?
