Hello I found a bad pin and melted connector at my valve cover and went to ford to get a new connector and terminals, they said I will have to buy the hole harness is there anyone that has part number from ford or a outside source for these parts? thanks
Welcome to FTE. Yes, you can fix things without wasting your money at the dealer. If you've got a burnt pin, you will need to closely inspect the harness connector both inside and outside the valve cover, as well as the pass thru connector in the valve cover gasket. Odds are you'll need to replace the valve cover gasket and put a pigtail on the harness. If it's the under valve cover harness, it might be worth just replacing the whole thing instead of worrying about splices being sprayed with oil.
You can probably order the parts from your local auto supply store. Dorman makes these products for the chain stores. You can also check with some of our sponsors as they sell the parts too.
Thanks for the quick responses, outside connector, and I bought the new valve cover gskt and 2 glow plugs today inside harness looked good .Also I'm considering putting the quarter in there, is there any chance of that falling out?
Thanks thats what I was looking for.Ihave owned a 97f350 since new and Ijust baught a 2000 f350 it has a few issues but I'm looking forward to upgrading to a 4dr.
Thanks for the info,a autolite glow plug was broke apart and burned the connector out . 4 new glow plugs, vc gskt and outside connector in 3hrs pretty easy I thought. plus the 25cent mod.
I used genuine ford parts and changed out all 4 on the side I had to work on. I'm thinking about leaving the other side alone , they all ohmed out good.

The other side might be autolite GPs as well. You should think about changing those out before they mushroom and won't come out. Autolite GPs are known for that. Then you can check out the UVCH on that side and put in a quarter.
