I have a light yellow fluid leaking out of a front barb fitting in front of the engine. It has a slight smell of gas and has an oily feel. The Excursion can sit for weeks and there is a pool under the truck. The question is, what can it be? The a/c still blow cold air, so I don't think it's that.
2001 7.3 diesel.
It's not anti-freeze or brake fluid.
It's a barb fitting that run along the front of the engine, don't see where it originate from.
Can't seem to be able to post a pic.
I attach a clear hose to the barb fitting draining into a bottle. A white zip tie is connected to the barb fitting. It is where the fluid is leaking from. any ideas what the fluid is?
It's a slow leak into the clear tube dumping into a bottle that is tie to the engine crossmember. The question is, what is the fluid?
This recently started about a month ago. I've had the Excursion for a few years and never have fluid come out of this specific barb fitting.

Merlin, that is a very clean engine. Not used to seeing a 7.3 without oily dirt on the engine.
Can you follow that line up and tell us where it terminates?
Maybe also post a picture of the fluid?
Does that hard line tube end with an open end? Did you place the clear tube onto the end of the hard line tube?
I'm wondering it it's the fuel bowl drain tube.
Trey, can you compare his pics to the ones you took recently of your drain tube?
