My '90 F150 4.9L I-6 has a very noticeable rough idle miss. However, it doesn't seem to miss when at operating speed. It's been thru all the usual mechanic diagnostics at our local shop, but still has the miss. I used to get decent mileage (17-20) on the hiway, but it has dropped off considerably since the miss appeared.
It's always been a good reliable truck, but I'm about fed up paying someone else to fix something that I could and should probably do myself. I'm willing to spend a few bucks to get the right tools or eqipment if someone can point me in the right direction. Any suggestions as to what to check out would be most appreciated.
