WHY ME?, FEULING ISSUES
I HAVE AN 88 F250 WITH DUALO TANKS.
THE FRONT TANK IS EMPTY AND I CAN'T FILL IT UP.
NO MATTER HOW I HOLD THE NOZZLE.THE 1ST THING THAT COMES TO MIND WOULD BE A KINK IN THE HOSE.WELL, NOTHING NOTICABLY WRONG IN THAT RESPECT.IF THERE IS SOMETHING PLUGGING IT SHOULD I JUST FORCE A HANGER OR SOMETHNIG DOWN IT.TRY TO CLEAR IT OUT? WOULDN'T THAT GET !@#$% IN MY TANK. IF ANYONE HAS EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM I WOULD APPRECIATE SOME ADVICE. THANKS
ALSO MY FEUL GAUGE IS SCREWED. THE FRONT TANK IS EMPTY AND WHEN I SWITCH TO IT IT READS FULL. THE REAER IS FUL...AND READS EMPTY.NOW AND THEN MY GAUGE JUMPS AND ACTS LIKE ITS GONNA WORK. ANY HELP?
IS THIS EASY TO DO?
I RECENTLY BOUGHT A HAYNES MANUAL FOR1980-96 PICUPS AND BRONCOS.I HAVE TO TELL YOU THAT NOTHING I'VE NEEEDED TO KNOW IS IN THIS BOOK. I WON'T BUY ANOTHER ONE. IS A CHILTONS BETTER?
There are dozens of us who have had the same problems with the gauges, overflowing of one tank into another, etc.
As far as not being able to fill the tank, I would try taking a small funnel, attaching a piece of small hose to it, small enough to slip into the filler hose, and see if you can fill it from a gas can.
If not, then you will have to remove the tank and replace the filler hose, most likely.
