Lights and turn signal problems

I have a 1977 F-250 with a 460 motor. I have a problem with the turn signal and running lights all on the drivers side. I will put in order what is going on. I don't know where to start on such a problem.

1. Left turn signal blinks normal without the lights on but it is slower and dimmer than the right side.

2. With the lights on, the front running light goes out and the blinker light comes on in the cab but does not blink.

3. With the lights on, the left turn signal will not blink on its own when turned on.

4. With the lights on, the left turn signal will blink manually but only in the front. It will blink in the rear manually once the brake pedal is pressed. Again all of this is dimmer than the right side.

It does have electrical trailer brakes hooked up at the current time as well. I just don't know what to look for. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dett

Lights and turn signal problems

It appears that the parking light circuit is getting its ground thru the signal light circuit. The all too common 'floating ground" problem caused by corroded sockets or missing grounds.
Both the front and rear sockets have black ground wires, make sure they are connected to a good ground point and arent corroded.
The sockets could also be corroded, cheap at just about any parts store.
For the cost of it I would replace both the front and rear sockets, make sure you put some dieletric grease or even vaseline in the sockets to reduce the chances of future corrosion problems.
