What would you guys do?

After a thread i posted last night and some other previous threads the consensus is to use rotella 5w 40 oil in the winter. I did an oil change with 15w 40 and i am only about 1000 miles into it. Sounds like I may have messed up with it being winter. I guess I have two options. 1. I can just eat this one and go ahead and do another oil change with the 5w 40 or buy a oil pan heater. What would you guys recommend? I hate to waste the oil i have in it now but i don't want to cause problems with my injectors either. I have no one to blame but myself

The lows at night this week will be bet 29 and 25. I live in Tn outside of nashville and we usually see single digits in Jan and Feb. I know that is not as cold as where some of you live. I was just reading how the 15w 40 was hell on the injectors in winter, so i was getting a little concerned. I just don't want it to cause major issues. I will use the 5w 40 next time for sure.

Don't sweat it....next oil change put it in and leave it summer AND winter. Your 6.0 will love it! 5w-40 is also a GREAT hot weather oil! Your injectors really like it.

I ran 15w-40 in my truck for the first 2 years. No problems in 0 degree weather.

I would leave it be...use your block heater if you can when it gets down to single digits. Next oil change you can go to the 5W-40...then stay with that year round if you want...I use it year round.

Where is the best place to get the 5w 40? I saw it online for $25 a gallon i don't know if that is about right or not. With it being synthetic do you guys let it go longer bet. oil changes or still do it every 5000 mi?

What is the rotella T6? Is that the synthetic 5w 40 or something different?

Yes, it's the 5w/40 synthetic. I should have been a little more specific

I would leave it, as others have suggested. But a second option, if you have any hard starts, or if it just bothers you, or whatever - drain the oil and save it. Refill with 5W, and then next summer use the 15W you saved. It won't hurt a thing to sit on the shelf for 6 months. Nice thing about this is that you won't have to wait a year to enjoy the huge difference that 5W makes in cold weather.
