Another adding Sirius thread

I had searched before and I think it's possible to add Sirius to a non-Sirius equipped truck and use the existing factory satellite button and factory controls to operate it.

Has anyone actually bought the "kit" and done this? Do your steering wheel controls and all the factory radio buttons actually work? Basically could you give me a brief rundown on what you bought and some cost estimates? Other than the roof antenna, what is my truck missing?

I've been stuck here at work for the past few weeks working 12 hr shifts back to back so I haven't had much time to research this online. I apologize if this has been beaten to death., but I'm out here in the sticks and I miss my XM/Sirius I had in my old truck

That kit looks like your best bet to me since you state your truck has all the "buttons".

Yea I may pull the trigger on that and see how it goes. It's killing me not having Satellite in this truck, especially having that button down there to remind me what I'm missing.

Anyone else have any input? I'd prefer not to be the guinea pig for this, and I want to believe someone has beat me to this mod?

When I can get around to installing it I'll report back.

Looks almost like the kit I had in my 2009 F-150 XLT. The only difference was I used the removable head unit and would move it from the work Chevy to my Ford. mounted the ant. over the third brake light and ran the cable down the back wall and to under the center console. This allowed the unit to be hidden. Controlled from the radio head. Then had the fm radio kit in the work truck with plug in power cord. Will most likely install it in the 2011 F 150 once the 6 month runs out. Just need to get a new ant. pulled cable apart removing the kit from the 2009. Took half a day to install this way.
