I used a carriage bolt, but a freeze plug would work best.

I attached a cheap Mr. Gasket valve cover breather to the end at the 6637. The intake still sucks the fumes right through the filter so no fume smell in the cab and I don't have any oil messes.

Been running it for about 1500 miles now with no problems. I can get pictures if anyone wants, its not the prettiest but that wasn't what I was going for.
Id like to see pics to get a better idea. Thanks

Why is this mod needed to have an intercooler?

Its not needed, it just keeps the oil vapors from accumulating in your intercooler, which will make it less efficient.

I did a temporary CCV mod last spring after installing my stage 1 injectors (and took some pics) not very pretty but it works and I haven't really seen a need to change it yet. I haven't noticed the bad smell or smoke or much vapor venting.

I turned the dog house around to vent toward the firewall then I removed the original rubber 90* and slipped on a short length of 3/4 in. black poly pipe used for irrigation or sprinklers systems.

Then I added 3/4 in. poly 90*

Then about a 2 ft. length of 3/4 poly.

You can see where it ends and vents down by the frame. There is just a little evidence of oil on the tube and frame. I may fasten or hang a small plastic bottle at the end of the tube to collect the oil just to see how much I collect, I have not noticed oil dripping from it or spots in the driveway. This was super simple and gets the oil out of the intake.
I am not suggesting this way of modding the ccv just sharing information IDK

That's how I have mine also Rich. Little different, but more/less the same. Some route the hose over the booster so oil can drain back down it into the vc if they have oil dripping. Mine looks just like yours.

I did this mod to my truck but havent plumbed a hose to it yet. Right now I have it vented directly out of the doghouse. I didnt notice any smell.

Is heater hose ok to use or does it swell up from the oil?

Why not vent this into the exhaust pipe?

I still like the idea of running a pipe forward, then a tee, and branch it off to outlet above the two points on the radiator core support where it mounts to the frame. Constant spray of oil, they'll never rust....
