Scan Codes / help please

hi all,

got my scanner today ran it ... got the following codes...

P2290 Injector Control Pressure Too Low

I have been having hard cold starts... that is why I bought the scanner.

Can anyone point me in the direction on what I need to do to fix these code errors?

I would start with the P2290 one you get that one fixed and Gone the other code P132b may go away Aguy can only hope

P132b code sucks tons of possibilities on that one

Boost relies on everything B4 it to work properly to give the turbo charger the ability to create Boost Injectors fuel system etc...

So start with the P2290

what year is the truck

do you have a way to monitor ICP & IPR%

any recent work

so what is the P2290 code?

I don't have or know how to monitor "ICP & IPR%"

the only thing that has been done, is I pulled and cleaned the EGR valve.

its a 2004

Your Injectors are Fired with High Pressure Oil
ICP= Injector Control Pressure is the sensor that Measures the HPO PSI

tthe IPR actuator is what controls the HPO Its the valve that opens and closes to regulate the High Pressure Oil Pressure

The PCM monitors ICP as the
engine is operating to modulate the
IPR. This is a closed loop function

which means the PCM continuously

monitors and adjusts for ideal ICP
determined by conditions such as

load, speed, and temperature.

The IPR is a valve that blocks the path to
drain for oil coming out from high pressure
pump. As duty cycle signal increases at the
IPR the restriction to drain increases, thus
increasing ICP.

So we look at the ICP & IPR% and from those #s we can determine if it has a leak in the HPO System

Do you know if your ICP sensor is under the turbo or if its on the passenger side valve cover

I saw your other thread but didnt read it But this P2290 code is one of the reasons for poor fuel milage since HPO is used to fire the injectors

I don't know where the sensor is... gonna check it tomorrow....

guess I need to take it too the shop but at least I know what to tell them and not get the shaft..

Do you know what the code is for bad injectors?

The P2290 can be hard to pinpoint without being able to graph ICP and ICP desired to determine when actual ICP is below what the computer is asking for (ICP desired). Are you running a tuner? I see nothing to indicate that you have bad injectors (yet) but your ICP problem could also be causing hard starts although I would expect a P2291 code (ICP too low cranking).
