I put a set of 55 watt low profile driving lights and mounted the to the hitch cross bar with 10-32 machine screws. No problem with the camera.

Flyinnuts- I used these 517 - KC HiLites - Back Up/Flood Light Kit At StylinTrucks.com The kit comes with everything except the screws/bolts to actually fasten them to your rig. I mounted mine under the rear bumper in front of the hitch cross beam almost centered under each frame rail as to spread the light output out. Some creativity is needed, if you can use basic tools you'll be fine. Ill try and post pics tomo.

Thanks for the info. I had additional b/u lights on my '04 and miss the extra light. This will sound cheesy ...... I installed those light brackets to the bottom of the hitch receiver using heavy duty double sided tape. In 4 years they never came loose.
I too would be interested to know if you control them by tapping into the reverse circuit or up fitter switch.

You can tie them in either way I spliced them into the reverse lights, but you could easily use an uplifter switch if you wanted. The kit comes with all the wiring and a relay so its all up to your imagination how you want to use them

So, the existing circuit for the backup lights is able to handle an extra 5 amps?

This would be my concern too. Curious to hear what other people's experience has been.

Me too, but it would make the hookup a heck of a lot easier.

Though I guess I am also wondering if there are times I would like to back up and not blind anyone so maybe a switch would be better...............

Since it's a pair of lights, I think they would actually be drawing an additional 8.4 Amps.

wiring them is a piece of cake the best way is to run a 12 volt fused wire, Ground, output to the lights and then run a wire from your existing back up lights to the to the relay. that way when you put your truck in reverse the lights come on with having to reach over and flip the switch. The relay takes the load of the lights your existing lights wiring only supplies the "trigger or switch " that turns on the relay.

I had an identical pair of these on my old F250. I hooked them up directly through the existing backup lights. They worked fine for the 6 years I owned the truck.
