Ok, this is interesting, I just replaced my t-stat due to it running 176f-190f max. Used Motorcraft OEM replacement, just test drove it, cool here, mid 40s, max temp coolant was 188F. This was after 20 mins of street driving and 20 mins on the freeway 65-80mph. So I am a little concerned and confused. Anybody have any thoughts or ideas. One good thing, differential never more than 10.
Thanks for any ideas, or if this is ok and no worries.
I just replaced mine to with an OEM thermostat it runs 188-190* so far
Id say thats great it was down at 173*-175* B4 I changed it
yours at 188* dont seem that bad to me Hell the SG or whatever your usinf the temp sender could be off 2*
Thanks fellas, yep, someone else discussed the idea of a sensor or the Scangauge being off a tad. Problem is that us desert rats are candy butts with "cold" weather, I think it is cold out, when in fact it is at least 40F everyday, sometimes to freezing at night. That is how I define cold, much to the chagrin of our North Dakota farmer relatives...who seem to show up in Tucson alot in the winter.
