Starter cable gauge?

My starter cable broke off at the solenoid. The copper piece at the end that goes onto the terminal on the solenoid is what broke. What gauge is the wire? I'd like to replace just this piece instead of the whole cable. Anybody have a cheap place for getting parts like this? Advance auto didn't have it.

It should be a 2/0 cable. It might be hard to find a lug that is bent at a 90*. O'Reilly's shows the straight ones. You could buy a straight one and try to bend it before crimping it on.

Thanks Roland,
I didn't even realize it's a 90. It broke right at the angle. I have a 'lug' that says 2 on it and it's way too small. I'm guessing it's got to be at least 0

Yep. 2/0 is the next size up from "0". We use 2/0 and 3/0 on the the OTR and Offroad equipment at work. We have some 3' long crimping pliers for them. We even have one truck that has dual starters.

The lug that has a 2 is 2 guage. Go to an industrial electric shop, theyll make what you need.

The only problem you will run into is the passanger side battery terminal. The power cable from the starter, and bridge cable9going to the drivers battery) are fused together into the terminal. You will either have to cut and solder into the exisiting part of the cable, or get a new terminal. I am running Knukoncept battery terminals, but am not very happy with them.

Had exact same thing happen to me! Any electrical supply business should have what you need, or farm and fleet, tractor supply, etc. Put new connector on then ran a completly seperate 2 gauge wire from passenger battery to starter just for complete piece of mind. I believe in overkill, lol!

If you have time to wait, this company builds kicking wing cables. I run a set of 3/0 cables on my sbc, and have had zero problems.

No, I meant 2 gauge. Or 2 AWG.

Neutral safety switch

Lots of nuetral safety switch stuff, but no videos or instructions of where the damn thing is, and how to get it out . . . am I inherently supposed to know this?
