Just thought I would say hello. I've already searched this site for hours, so I thought I should go ahead and become a member. So, here I am.
I've got a 1983 F-150 with a 300 that has been in my family since it was new. I rebuilt the engine in it about 15,000 miles ago and now I'm getting around to restoring the truck and having some fun with the engine.
The engine was bored 0.040 over and has an RV cam from P.A.W. (270/280 advertised) but the truck still has the factory carb, intake, and exhaust. I plan to rectify all of that. I've sourced an Offy DP and C intake, EFI split exhaust, and am still on the fence regarding the carb I'll use (Holley or Edelbrock and of course what CFM).
Currently, the truck has an AOD but I've thought about converting over to a manual (since I miss my old 1968 F-250 with a T-18). Of course, I would look at the ZF S5-42. I'm working on sourcing all of the parts here in the great state of Oklahoma.
In any case, I'm still working on all of the details regarding the carb, TV cable, throttle brackets, and the like.
Thank you all for the weath of information already on this site and for information to come.
Yaga1973 - Welcome! You'll find a lot of help and support here. But, do yourself and the rest of us a favor by filling out the User Control Panel info about yourself and your truck. Or, put the truck info in your sig. But, the location info may be really useful depending on where you are in this "great state of Oklahoma". That's 'cause there are several of us in the Tulsa area that are quite active in FTE, including having meet-and-greet's a couple of times a year.

C'mon, Gary, you know that not all of us display sig files when surfing this place and, regardless, expect specific truck information to be presented when questions are asked, don'tchya?
Yaga, yes, please finish filling out your profile....
Yes, Chris, I'm aware of that. And, I remember yours is a 400 (M?!), Dave's is a diesel now, not a 460. RW runs the 6. And Lariat has the 302. But, beyond that I forget and have to ask.
Ok, so sig's aren't everything and can't be used by the newbies, but they do help. At least this site doesn't find the info in the sig's in the search function. So, I still vote for them.

Cool! :)
Special ordered my '75 F150 360FE+T18 when I was 21 years old, it's
never broke down and left me stranded anywhere -ever-!

Do it, you'll like it. BTDT, e4od-4wd to ZF-2wd in a '91 Bronco.
Yes, I got "jumped" over on the Full Size Bronco website forum. LOL
Got the Bronco for $700 and the >8500# F250 parts truck for $800. ;)
-------------------------
Now days, I only search for *ZF* when checking out FTE anymore.
You can use that same "four figure search" for your parts-research. :)
Then your questions can be specific and to the point, it'll be cool. :)
I've worked on my garage (pics will come along soon although "Betsy" is pretty much stock) and am working on my signature line and other info as well. It's good to hear there are quite a few folks on here from Oklahoma as I'm sure they will be quite helpful locating parts.
I've had a Bronco in the past and miss it, Alvin. Although changing a Bronco to a 2 wheel drive wouldn't be my thing, but if you are happy, that's all that matters!
