NEW PROBLEM ON '92 E150 VAN
This past spring I had problems with my '92 E150 van stalling out whenever the accelerator was pushed down. I changed the EGR sensor and valve, also changed out the IAC valve and it ran fine. A couple of weeks later the fuel pump went out, so I changed it, also changed the O2 sensor. All this was done about 6 months ago, no problems until this week. Now the van does not want to start, unless I press the accelerator down to the floor. After starting up this way it runs fine. The check engine light has come on since last spring, but the shop told me the error code was due to not cleaning out the EGR valve inlet piping when I changed the EGR valve. Any ideas on why the van is hard to start?

Anyone with ideas on why the accelerator has to be pressed to the floor to make the van start?

I also found after driving today that the engine revs up very high after it gets up to normal temperature. The accelerator is not sticking. Possibly need to clean throttle body?

well, to me, it sounds like you could have a bad throttle position sensor. both times you had a problem they dealt with the position of the throttle. just a guess. might be your timing too.
