Has anyone exstensively modified their truck, and had some driveability problems, which were remedied by a custom programmed chip through diablo sport or a similar company? And were you happy with the results?

I had some drivability problems with my 93 Mustang 5.0 after extensive mods. I didn't do the add-on chip though, I had the EEPROM re-flashed by a dyno-tuner and gained both power and drivability. I would assume that a generic chip might help but it would be unlikely to solve the problem as well as a custom re-flash as part of a dyno session.

i agree with SR, but with a custom chip, you usually do tune iut on a dyno. and with the chips they sell at motorhaven, you can get two or three programs on em for different settings, and be able to switch. plus when you want to sell the truck, or wreck, or something else fo that nature, you can just pull the chip and use it again without flashing the ecu again.

Correct. Patrick at Diablo has been programming ECUs longer than just about anyone in the industry. If modifications are extensive, we can and have done programs based on dyno tunes. A chip for a stock truck isn't meant to fix driveability problems, that's what a custom tune with a Diablo (or another brand) is for: to get the correct timing advance, A/F ratio, etc. for the modifications.
