I have a 99 Sport and needed my drive belt replaced (started squeeling and vehicle has 69K)- I bought a new one from my local dealer and it seems a tad short. I noticed on the belt (when I removed the old one) that it had apart number of ending with 8620-B and the new belt I was give is a 8620-BA- does anyone know the difference?? I have a 4.0 SOHC and told the parts guy so maybe I am just crazy! I have replaced quite a few drive belts in my day and know how its done but this belt is just to damn short- any input??
yes if you buy a new one, the best belts out there ate good-year "gator back" they come with a lifetime gurantee. a lil' more expensive but they last! i've had one on my truck for 2 years and no signs of wear yet. as to being short, well i think you got the wrong part. go back to store and rip a new one to the kid behind the counter and get yerself a gator back.
Thanks- Your the third person to tell me to get a Gatorback so thats the plan- appreciate your input! Just pisses me off that I spent the time with the wrong belt!!
