I have a 4x4 and i notice the same thing. It sounds like a popping in the front end. Mine also does it at low speed sharp turns or while im reversing. Sounds like the HUBs
Mine was doing the same exact thing. I had it at the dealer for something else, and I was in the garage with the mechanic. He took my driver side wheel off and tightened the upper control arm up. I told him that I had been experiencing a popping sound when turning and he said that might have been it. It hasn't popped once since then.
I think Ken might have been considering the possibility of a CV joint wearing out, if 4WD. As the joint wears out (especially if the boot has ripped), metal-to-metal contact will start to occur within the joint, causing a clicking sound on hard turns. It will get worse as time goes on. If the clicking is not loud, you can pull the sub-axle, clean the joint out real good, re-grease it, & replace the boot. It will go for awhile, but, most folks who are going to go to all the trouble to pull it AT ALL are going to replace it, unless it's REALLY EXPENSIVE. At least if it fails, you still have the rear wheel drive to get you home.
Have you guys with the noise problems checked to see if your tires are rubbing on something at full turn? Look for wear on the tires and or shiny metal.
