i was wondering if i could mate up a zf5 to my 390 and then have a married transfercase. and what mounts and bellhousings and clutch and everything would i need right now i have np435 4 speed. with the divorced. and also i want to do a 12 valve swap in the future and would like to know if it would with a cummins to. thanks i have searched about it and found nothing
I don't know if they make an adapter for it. I was originally going to do the same thing. But, I've decided to go with the 351W I robbed along with the ZF-5 and it's transfer case, out of an 89 F-250.
Your cheapest way is to use a NVG 4500 and a conversion bellhousing for the FE, as 4500's were used behind 6BT's. When you go to a 6BT, you could use a stock bellhousing. It would be hard to find an adapter for an FE ZF.

+1. As a NV4500 swap owner myself I highly recommend this if you want to stick with a Manual.
