I have a 2003 ford Excursion with 7.3L Diesel I have to replace the backing plate for parking brake as they are rusted out. The thread on how to do this is Fantastic!!! [/B][/B][/B][/U]But I need to know how to find out what size socket for the spindle nut and if I have to take the pumpkin cover off. I would appreciate any help? It has limited slip 3.73 rear ends.

 

No need to take the diff cover off.. Go to your parts store and buy the tool. They have an application for your year..
