hello guys, just have a few questions, my wife bought me a 2009 F250 and i have noticed that the gas miliage is pretty crappy compaired to my 2006 king ranch, what can i do to get my miliage back up, right now on the interstate at running 70mph, i am only getting 15, with the 2006 and bully dog tunner i was getting 20 mpg, any ideas,

try a search.. its been talked about a bunch.. but if you delete the DPF and Cat.. and get a tuner and intake.. you should see a substantial increase on highway driving with certain tunes.. i run IDP xtreme street tune on my livewire.. and i'm getting 18-19 mpg hand calculated running 70 mph w/ this tune.. as for around town driving.. i get a constant 14.5 mpg hand calculated..

From: Russellville ar,
i really dont know what tuner to get, i have been told to get a 5 inch exhaust system, I love the truck but if i cant get better than 15 mpg then i might as well get a new truck, i was looking on the other forums and some would talk about it but they would get into things i have never heard of and it would just throw me off. thanks for the reply

I don't think u need a 5 in exhaust.. you need a dpf delete and a tuner.

I ran a Spartan tuner on my 08 dually, and saw no justifiable gain (from 9 to 10.5 towing, only time I use it).. never saw empty above 14.5
but its the 4.10 rear end..

Spartan, H & S are a couple.

then there is DPF R as well.

While they may improved a couple mpgs per gallon do not look for it to pay for itself for quite sometime.

Your biggest gain would be in your driving habits.

Sweet spot is less than 2K rpm and limiting your boost. Slower take off's and coasting to stop lights.

City traffic is a killer. My truck comes in at 8200 lbs empty. Takes alot to get that moving.

I can get as high as 17 on a straight hwy run but that is about the best I think you will see overall.

Loaded and towing it is just best to not even look.
