Angry Hate the Hard Top

This is my first thread here. I have an '87 Bronco XLT. I love the truck, and I drive it everywhere. But I live here in Alabama and it is so pretty here in the spring time I can't help but take the bulky Hard Top off. But If anyone knows anything about Alabama, they know we have the most Unpredicatable weather. Sunny for six hours, then rain for a day, and there is no warning. I plan to eventually repalce the interior with waterproof seats, and paint on bedliner instead of carpet. Until then, I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions on how to protedt the interior while the top is off.

First of all, welcome!

There are "hundreds" of threads regarding soft tops and alternative ways to cover the rear section of the Bronco. Do a search and it should yield much information about this common concern by most all Bronco owners.

I bought a short bed toneu cover and trimed it to fit up the back of the cab. only cost 40 bucks and you can drive on the highway with it in place.

wileec, was that tonneau for a short bed truck? And what did you do about the window in the back?

yes it is, sorry I can not spell. Usally I leave the part that goes up the cab unfacined while driving so I still have the open air we all want, ends up with the back seat acting like a bow to keep everything tight. When driving very little or no water gets into the truck and it only takes a minute to snap in place when I park. When driving when it is up you have to relie on your side mirrors. I am working on getting a full soft top this year because my kids do not fit well under this setup.

Ok, I think I have a better idea of what you are talking about. Is there any drilling involved?

the cover I bought was velcro it worked real good on my 81 with no clearcoat. When I got my 95 the clearcoat did not allow the glue from velcro to stick so I added 4 or 5 snaps on each side and on the tail gate. Whats a few holes compared to some of the rocks I have met.
