Surging Issue Continued

First of all i would like to say thanks to all especially nccpartsman for all the help.

Ive had this surging issue for sometime now it started at turbo farting, here is what ive done so far.

Pulled and cleaned turbo, no damage visible. Helped some but still farted just not as bad.

Installed new VGT solenoid, helped for a while.

Then my truck stated cutting out on an irregular basis, removed the round plate from the "throttle body" underneath the intake elbow. Fixed that problem.

Now i have a surging issue that happens at 10psi boost pressure and lower. Replaced MAP sensor, EBP sensor, Throttle Pedal. All seemed to help a little but problem is still there.

Returned programming to stock and it helped a bit but it still surges. No codes when i scanned it with my tuner.

Im starting to think it may be the ICP or IPR. It runs great above 10psi on the boost, no other loss of power or anything. i guess im going to have to take it into ford and have them do a road test or somthing?

check your icp volatge should. also check for icp sensor leaking oil.
icpv should be .14-.19v give or take on an early build engine. assuming you have an early build do to the comment about the throttle plate.

Cheezit thanks for all your help! I didnt know it would run unplugeed. If the problem goes away what does that mean. Also could you give me a quick lesson on what exactly icp and ipr do? Thanks again!

if the concern goes away it will mean that yuou either need a icp sensor or connector or possibly both.

icp is just a sensor input that reads the value of the high pressure pumps output. we read it in psi the the pcm only really needs the voltage value.
ipr is a metered oil leak off the high pressure oil pump. the more duty cycle the vlave has the more oil pressure that is bleed off. the icp is reading this value.

Thanks for the responses! Are the aftermarket ICP sensors as good as the Ford sensors?

Had similar issues here. My issue was a poor electrical connection (crimp connectors) between the ICP pigtail and the main wiring harness.

Been runnin' great since!

so if you unplug the icp and it runs better the icp is bad? can you drive with it like that for extended periods of time?
