94 S.D. w/7.5 Altenator ??

We have a '94 Super Duty/450 and it has a weak stock altenator and I was wondering if anyone knew of a Ford H.D. alt. or an aftermarket one that would help power an electric dump bed, etc. This one squeaks when you first start the truck use the lights/heater fan/ wipers and I know it's a matter of time before it goes out.

You most likely have a 2G alternator with max output in the 80amp range. Plugs are prone to failure resulting in fire. Hookups for the 3G uses a single heavy 4 guage lug design instead of the two 10 guage wire plug design and is available in popular 130 amp output. Sounds like your belt may be slipping also, reducing your current output even more.
