I kind of thought the same thing about the ARP bolts all around but thought what the heck if Im going to do this might as well go all the way. the carb is a little bigger than I would like to go but I cant seem to find one from edelbrock that is about 650cfm. the dizzy is a diffrent story I found so much I couldnt decide so I went simple and cheep untill your experience I hadnt herd anything bad about the conversion but now I think Ill keep looking.
also has anyone talked anymore about getting together this summer? my truck wont be driveable but Id still like to meet all I can from the area and forum.
thanks for your input doc its greatly appreciated

Please don't let my experience with the conversion deter you from trying it. I could have hooked up something wrong (even though I only had one thing to hook up) or it could have just been a bad unit. I am quite certain a brand new Accel distributor will put out enough spark though.

I'm also have what I think is a bad experience with the shop that swapped the engines but I will answer emails about that if you like. F100dream@charter.net, until next time, have fun and go very fast!!! Doc.

hey while I got you here can you tell me the motor shop your using? address and phone would also be great. I cant find a shop in all of springfield that I trust and knows anything about FE motors. so maybe Ill give your a call and see what they can tell me. it just might be a good excuse to get back to st.louis on a couple of weekends????

Sure grasmussen, the shop is called NPT and the engine guys name is Bob Teutrine (pronounced too-trane), 618-233-1344. Tell him I referred you and he should take care of you. Now you won't get a chance to come to St. Louis two more time, because he was done with my engine in like 4 days, lol.

But, if he wants you to use Hubble's automotive for an engine swap, do not do it!!! The guy who owns it is a nice guy, but vintage ford trucks is not his thing as I have had to spend $1000 more than he quoted and my truck and it still isn't done (going on two weeks for an engine swap). The only thing he has to do is change the distributor (bought a $350 one) and I stood up at his shop after work today while he worked on another vehicle. *****, it only takes 10 minutes to change a distributor. Actually, you can tell Bob I suggested you not use Hubble's and I suggest noone else from this forum use Hubble's (just my opinion). But give Bob a call, he comes from a Ford family and he did an exceptional job on my engine. Doc.
