i learned to drive on a 49 international L-190 single axle tractor, pulling a 35 ft trailer full of hay from the fields to the barn.
i drove that truck from age 13 till age 23 when got a 59 pontiac catalina to use as a daily driver. and i paid 20 cents per gallon when i started driving legally

Actually I first learned to drive in a Massey Ferguson Tractor pulling a trailer full of hay on the farm we lived on. I always remember I braked so sharply that one of the workers fell off the back of the trailer!

The first I remember "driving" was a 50 something ford pickup with a Marmon-Harington 4X4 conversion. My Dad would start it then climb in the back to feed the cattle bags of cubes, and I would perch on my Knees and steer it. I was probably about 4 or 5. What I actually learned to drive was a 59 Ford F100 that had a 292 y block and a 4 speed tranny.
