New here. Need help with EEC IV 300

Well to start it off my name is Cody, I am 17 and just bought a 1984 f250 with the 300 inline 6. I am growing up in the age of fuel injection and need help with this truck. Gm ls based engines are what i'm into lol. This truck is replacing my 99 chevy as my dd.

Well that's enough of that on to the good stuff. I got the truck for $900 bucks. It's not all rusted out and has been in one family its whole life. The previous owners unhooked the smog pump and anything else that stopped working. The truck runs well but I don't think it is 100%. It starts first key turn and it ran 65mph for 2 hours on the way home. So I did some investigating on what to do before I drive it everyday. So far I'm going to replace the vavle cover gasket, manifold gasket, fuel filter, belts, air filter, oil change, coolant flush, plugs and wires, dizzy cap and rotor. Now from there we get into the feedback carb. I have researched online and have learned quite abit. It seems like everyone converts to dsII and a non feedback carb. I would like to keep mine if possible. The only thing I can tell is wrong with mine is the stepper motor does not work causeing it to run rich. I have not checked if the timing is advancing yet though and I am not getting a cel. The port to pull codes has also been spliced into at one time. Any help on what parts I need to refresh my feedback system would be great.

My dad knows older 300s but never knew they came with a computer controlled carb and well neither did I . Thanks for any help and sorry for the long post.
