When I got the truck the smog pump was siezed, the belt was already off so I removed the pump. The truck ran just fine.
After a while, it started running rough again so I checked and then replaced the plugs & plug wires and a new dist cap & rotor bug. Ran ok for a while and then started running rough agian.
I've located a few vacume leaks and have plugged them. Also replaced the air filter.
Now I'm stumped. Truck still runs rough and won't idle.
I'd check your carb, my guess is it's gummed up bad, might be time to re-build it, or at-least give it a good cleaning. Fuel filters could be contributing to the issue as well.
Have you done a compression test? I'd do that before much else, it could alert you to any mechanical issues your motor may have.
Another thing would be to pull the carb apart and clean it as said before. It may have the famous ethanol "jelly" in it. If the truck sits for a while, that may also be a problem. Ask me how I know
