shift kit for a c6

anybody running one of these?

B&M 40228 B&M Transpak

just out of curiosity.

I have the transgo kit, but I also have many other mods to the trans, so I can't say how the kit alone works. I was lucky and found a C6 guy who had a home shop, and work was slow, so he just busied himself my modding out my trans. I brought it to him, along with servo, and he supplied the gaskets, rebuild kit, and converter, and shift kit for $750. This is what he did:

1. made 3 plate direct into 4 plate by machining .160" higher snap ring groove..
2. made 4 plate low/reverse clutch into a 5 plate setup by machining .150" off the pressure plate snap ring area
3. installed Transgo shift kit into your valve body during rebuild
4. installed Sonnax Billet R servo setup
5. complete rebuild kit with new band, pump bushing, all new frictions, rubber, seals, rings, etc.
6. spent a friggin hour plus on that ugly ugly ugly pan of yours... lol it was really bad..pounded out all the dents and then glass beaded it inside out.. had a lot of rust. then painted the pan with Duplicolor Cast Coat Iron color..
7. installed E4OD sprag setup.. which includes new race, torrington bearing and new late style clutch/roller set
8. changed your servo ratio arm from a J arm to an E arm.. different letter arms multiply the output of the servo at different ratios.. the E arm is very close to the F arm that Ford put in the Cobrajet C6's.
9. new adjustable modulator and new modulator hose..

Around town it feels like my six-year-old son is making the shifts by kicking the floor shifter from one gear to another. But when I get on it hard, that is when it is in the comfort zone; quick, strong shifts, no lag, no slip, no hesitation. (Love to hunt sbc's! ha ha).

That sounds pretty cool. Don't plan on doing all that by any means but considering the shift kit was given to me, the B&M should do just fine for me. Transgo kits are good from what I've heard but mine was free...

It works okay. I wish I would have went stage 3 on install, as the 2-3 shift is softer than I'd like. I've though of replacing it with a transgo kit to see how that works. Might do that on my mustang since it's shift kit didn't give it manual control, and it doesn't shift into first when I tell it to... >
