I have a 2011 FX2 and my headlights and parking lights wont shut off even when I move the switch to off.
Anyone have any ideas?
I noticed last night that my lights were still on after we'd been home about 30 minutes. I went outside and turned the switch off and they remained on.
I ended up having to pull the rear parking, front parking, L headlight and R headlight fuses to get them to turn off for the night.
I checked it out today and I can't find anything obviously wrong...All fuses are good ect.
Tried to get it into the dealer before the holiday but no luck so it looks like no night driving until Monday.
That may very well turn out to be one of those malfunction that the dealer can't reproduce. Sounds like it may be a sensor gone bad.
Great looking truck by the way!
Thanks for the compliment!
It's easy to reproduce... The headlamps do not shut off. Easy to see lol
They just sent me home in a rental F-150. They have narrowed it down to a wire shorted in the dash so I assume they will replace the wiring harness in the dash. I dunno they might just trace the wire down and repair it.
Either way they told me to expect three days repair time. Uhg!
I spoke with the tech that worked on her and he said that I actually had two problems..but he thinks one caused the other...It's hard to tell.
He found the dash wiring harness was pinched where the dash bolts into the cab. Probably happened during assembly. He replaced it and then discovered the headlamps switch was shorted out so he replaced that and it was fixed.
He believes the pinched/shorted wires shorted out the switch.
So I have a new dash harness properly routed and a new switch... I'm happy!
